The 2nd Annual FREE Leimert Park Village African Art & Music Festival
DESCRIPTION
Join us Labor Day Weekend, Fri., Sat. & Sunday, September 4, 5, 6, for a FREE, lively, 3-day art & music festival featuring jazz, blues, reggae, r&B, spoken word, dance, a fashion show, a juried fine arts market, a children's village and an international food court.

The FREE Leimert Park Festival will feature both nationally known musicians and fine artists as well as emerging performers and artisans. Last year more than 30 artists performed including LTD, Azar Lawrence, The World Stage Sextet, Wali Ali, Wadada, Funkalicious, Medusa, and many more.

The family-friendly festival attracts more than 6,000 people including celebrities, elected officials, noted community leaders and residents from throughout LA County. There will be entertainment and activities for all age groups.

Third Annual Brew Haw Haw benefitting Cystic Fibrosis
DESCRIPTION
Its the best reason to hoist a frosty mug! The third annual Brew Haw Haw will pop a few on Saturday, September 11, 2010 on the Pine Meadows Lawn of the Autry National Center. This ultimate outdoor beer bash will offer up suds from some of the regions best microbreweries and brew pubs. Several of Los Angeles most popular restaurants will be there, too, serving up their specialties and festive fare.

Fest-goers can tap their toes to live music and bid on great silent auction items, all while supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation raise funds for a cure.

Whether you call it ale, amber brew, barley pop, brown bottle or just a cold one, get your tickets for this unforgettable afternoon now. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event only and will not be available at the door. No children, pets or anyone under 21 will be allowed in. In fact, no admittance without a photo ID.

About the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the worlds leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Foundation funds more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. Based in Bethesda, Md., the Foundation also supports and accredits a national care center network that has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health as a model of care for a chronic disease.

The 2010 Komen Orange County Race for the Cure
DESCRIPTION
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is an important community event bringing together women, men, families, friends and businesses to celebrate breast cancer survivors and remember those who have lost their battle with the disease. The beautiful Newport Beach route is a 5K run and walk and draws more than 25,000 people each year. The early run/walk steps off at 7:30 a.m.; survivor tribute at 9:00 a.m. and the second run/walk starts at 9:45 a.m. Participants who register for In the Pink VIP status will enjoy various perks on Race day, including exclusive access to the VIP area.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged; to register and for more information visit www.komenoc.org. Funds raised support the Komen vision of a world without breast cancer. 75% of funds raised will provide breast health services in Orange County and 25% will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research. All registered participants receive a Race for the Cure shirt; breast cancer survivors receive a special pink Race shirt.
