Sahnas Quintet - PVUMC Community Concert Series
DESCRIPTION
Join us for the Sahnas Quintet, our next performance in the PVUMC Community Concert Series, on Friday, February 19, 7-9 pm in the church sanctuary, the building closest to Lincoln Drive. Pictured below are three of the five: Demitri, Thano and Lauren Sahnas. Joining them will be Suzanne Lansford on violin, and Todd Chuba on persussion. Sahnas has been an audience favorite since our concert series began, and we're thrilled to have them back again. This year, the guitar-playing Sahnas brothers -- Demitri and Thano -- will bring their full quintet, with Lauren Sahnas playing the harp, Suzanne Lansford on violin, and Todd Chuba on persussion. The group recently performed at the Desert Botanical Gardens' Luminarias, and perform frequently at other venues and festivals in the Southwest. Don't miss the chance to see them again and hear their music, a beautiful blending of sounds and rhythms from their native Greek culture and the warm, inviting romance of the classical Spanish guitar.

As with all our community concerts, there are no tickets or fees. We only ask that you give a free-will offering to show your love for the performers and the PVUMC Community Concert Series 2015-2016, offering Music for Everyone.

Our concerts are designed for all ages, and we welcome families.Free, certified onsite childcare is available during the concerts with a 48-hour reservation, making these a great date night! To reserve a spot for your child(ren), please call the church at 602-840-8360, ext 134 at least 48 hours before the event. If you need to cancel childcare, even at the last minute, please call the number again.

Tigran Hamasyan Luys i Luso
DESCRIPTION
Although trained as a classical and jazz musician, Tigran Hamasyan draws on a wide range of influences including Armenian folk music, rock and more. In the past decade, with the release of four critically acclaimed albums and an unceasing touring schedule, Tigran has built up a dedicated international following, as well as accolades from the likes of Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.

His new undertaking is a fresh and appealingly youthful representation of Armenian sacred music from the 5th to 19th centuries, as interpreted from his unique and modern perspective. The repertoire ranges from enthralling hymns and sharakans to breathtaking chants arranged for piano and voices by the pianist himself. Tigran and 8 members of the Yerevan State Chamber Choir embark on an extensive tour, performing this sacred music in 100 European churches.

This special Royce Hall event is the only performance in the U.S.
