 First on New Year’s Eve beginning at 6:30pm, KJazz presents The 30th annual New Year's Eve special Toast of the Nation with coast-to-coast live concerts by John Pizzarelli, The Bad Plus, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and more from some of the best music venues in the country, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and the Village Vanguard in New York City.
Then on January 1, 2010 at 6:00am, KJazz 88.1 presents its Top 88 spins of 2009 new releases. This annual New Year’s tradition features the KJazz DJs’ collective favorites released during the calendar year, resulting in an entirely new collection of fresh jazz gems every time.
Featured “Top 88” artists will include… Roy Hargrove Big Band, Tierney Sutton, Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Kurt Elling, Poncho Sanchez, to name a few. |
