Oscar Hernandez

Grammy Award Winner Oscar Hernández has long been considered one of the most gifted and prominent pianist/ arrangers on the Latin-jazz and salsa music scene. Oscar Hernández has recorded and performed with artists such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, Juan Luis Guerra, Ray Barreto. He was the Musical Director/Conductor for “The Capeman,” Paul Simon’s Broadway musical. His playing can be heard on the theme of the hit show “Sex and the City”.

Oscar Hernandez is the leader of the world renowned “Spanish Harlem Orchestra” (SHO), winning a Grammy in 2005. Oscar performs regularly with SHO and is also musical directing the world tour of Ruben Blades & Seis Del Solar. Additionally, currently living in Los Angeles, he performs with his Latin Jazz Quintet, LA-NY Connection, as well as with his Salsa Orchestra, The LA Salsa All Stars.
