About Air China
With a net worth of $ 20 billion, Air China is the world’s largest airline by market capitalization, according to the International Air Transport Association.

Air China is China’s only national flag carrier--an exclusive status that not only gives it the responsibility of flying Chinese state leaders  on official visits to other countries but also the sole privilege of having the national flag of the country painted on its fuselage.  Its enterprise logo is an artistic Phoenix pattern which is the Chinese version of Air China Limited written by former national leader, Deng Xiaoping.  The Phoenix logo is also an artistic rendering of the word “VIP.”

Air China has a fleet of 280 Airbus and Boeing aircraft (including 266 passenger airliners and nine freighters), one training plane and four business jets.   Its network of 264 routes extends throughout Asia to the Middle East, Europe, South and North America from its main hub at Beijing Capital International Airport.  It offers over 6,000 flights with 1 million seats every week.

In 2010, Air China carried 46.24 million domestic and international passengers, an increase of 16% over the previous year, making it China’s most profitable international carrier.

Air China has 80.9% stake in Air Macau, 29.99% in Cathay Pacific Airways and the controlling share of Shenzhen Airlines Company Limited.

Air China Limited has reached significant milestones.   On December 23, 2010 it became the first Chinese airline to offer combined tickets that include domestic flights and shuttle bus services to nearby cities.  Its frequent flyer program, Phoenix Miles, was the first in China.  On December 10, 2010 Air China became the first foreign international carrier to be awarded the “Plaque for Tourist Merit,” Spain’s highest tourism industry award.
